For this photograph a very long shutter speed was used just out of curiosity to see how it would turn out. As you can see sometimes less is more. Now of course if these fireworks explosions had ended up further apart then we'd have something here. Otherwise when they're landing in close proximity to each other they end up as a bit of a mess at such a long amount of timing.
Hopefully I'll stumble upon just the right fireworks show to get it right. The ideal one would most likely be the Macy's 4th of July spectacular which takes place on the East River of New York City.

We're not sure which was more visually pleasing in this photo. The Fireworks display itself or the smoke at the ground level. Both worked wonderfully together to create a great image.

Believe it or not, this is photograph was taken immediately after the previous one above. You see, the lower set of fireworks were of the type that continued to sparkle in the sky. Thus I had time to snap again real quick so's to capture the ensuing explosions. Neat, huh?
