We had a fantastic time at the Balloon Fest this year although yours truly had come so very close to cancelling the trip. There I was keeping an eye on the weather forecasts all week and day after day it was the same thing: Thunderstorms and showers predicted for the entire weekend. As luck would have it I awoke Saturday morning and saw the sun shining and like a bat out of hell I swept myself out of the house with camera and gear in tow. Oh yeah, I thought, I'm gonna take my chances.

'and so I did chance it and it all worked out beautifully. Mind you this festival takes place at Solhberg Airport, New Jersey during the most brutal time of the year. Out on the field you'd feel as if you were the caught chicken being roasted in the oven. Oh yeah, it's that hot. But is it worth it? Uhuh! Most certainly.
